Development and construction have traditionally been male-dominated industries, and my path into both has been anything but conventional. I came into development through finance, real estate investing, construction and eventually hospitality ownership. Along the way, I learned to move comfortably between spreadsheets, construction sites, design meetings and operating decisions.
“Uncommon” is a nod to that path—and to the belief that the best hospitality projects often come from owners willing to think differently about what they are building, how it should work and what makes it worth creating in the first place.
Uncommon Developer exists to bring that perspective to the owner’s side of the table.
Beyond my own development work, I serve in an advisory role within the Experiential Hospitality community, working alongside Isaac French in advising owners developing boutique lodging, outdoor hospitality, retreats and other experience-driven projects.
That experience gives me visibility into projects at every stage of development and regular exposure to the specialists behind them—from lenders and appraisers to architects, land-use professionals, designers and operators.
It has also reinforced what I believe owners often need most: not another specialist working within one piece of the project, but someone who can see across the entire development and help connect the decisions.
